Continuing our mini-series on work-life balance issues, YWTF: DC invites you to learn about the laws and public policies that affect individuals' (and particularly women's) ability to balance work and career with their personal responsibilities and needs, and about advocacy and activism around these issues.

We'll discuss topics including:
Why are government and employer policies that allow for work-life balance so important for women and families?
What laws have made a positive impact on individuals' ability to balance work and personal obligations, and what policy areas still need the most improvement?
As young women, what do we need to know about work-life policies as we enter new stages in our lives?
How can we get involved in activism and advocacy around these issues?

Bring your own questions and thoughts to share!

Thursday, January 20, 6:30pm, YWCA of the National Capital Area, 624 9th St, NW

Join us to talk about how dating and romantic relationships are impacted by feminist values and awareness of feminist issues. This will be an informal conversation based on your thoughts and experiences, but some topics we will touch on include:
- How do traditional gender roles and expectations come into play in dating and relationships, for both straight and LGBTQ people?
- Would you identify yourself a feminist on a first date? On an online dating profile?
- How do you talk about issues of sexism and gender inequality with your partner or someone you're interested in?
- What are your feminist dating horror stories... or pleasant surprises?
Here some articles and blog posts to get you thinking! (Note: some include explicit language and may not be safe-for-work.)
